By Drew Locascio

This is the second installment of the Power 25 Rankings update. Weather has cooperated enough over the last couple of weeks, allowing most teams to get an ample amount of games under their belt. The No. 1 team in the state remains Marist. Marist travelled to the NHSI last week and went 2-1, against some of the best high school teams in the country, many of whom had 20+ games under their belt. Marist lost to Blessed Trinity (GA) by a score of 3-0 and beat Hagerty (FL) 4-3 and Christan Brothers College (MO) 1-0.

Below is a look at last week's IHSA action:

CLIMBING

+ Lincoln-Way East - The Griffins bumped up a spot to No. 3 in the Power 25 thanks to a 4-0 week in which they knocked off Oak Lawn, Bradley-Bourbonnais, Lincoln-Way Central and Andrew. In the four games the Griffins outscored their opponents 35-6. They sit at 11-1 on the season.

+ St. Rita - The Mustangs are one of the hottest teams in the state and jumped four spots to No. 9 in the rankings. St. Rita, who is still undefeated at 11-0, beat DePaul College Prep, No. 18 Marian Catholic, St. Joseph and No. 22 De La Salle.

+ Huntley - The Red Raiders are starting to hit their stride and currently sit at No. 10 after a 4-1 week. The one loss for Huntley was a 4-3 game against Cary-Grove and the No. 1 prospect in the state, RHP Quinn Priester. Huntley scored two runs off Priester in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game, before losing 4-3 on a walk-off. In the Red Raiders four wins on the week, they outscored their opponents 30-1.

+ Neuqua Valley - The Wildcats only played two games last week but both were against Top 25 opponents, Homewood-Flossmoor and Plainfield North. The Wildcats beat HF 6-3 and Plainfield North 16-3, propelling them up to No. 11, an eight spot rise. Neuqua sits at 7-3 on the season.
