6/5/18 - Blum is a  long and lean 6-foot-3 185-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 4.65 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, consistent middle to pull side line drives during hitting evals, balanced stance, minimal load, slight toe touch for timing, quiet hands, level path through the hitting zone, simple and repeatable.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velocity, arm work with loose high three quarters arm slot, stays under control with footwork, fields ball in athletic position, clean transfer, mostly accurate throws.

2/10/18 - Blum is a 6-foot-3 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a  7.39 60 and has an 87 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance, short in line stride, minimal load, loose hands with level path, body stays under control, gap to gap approach, flashed  pull power.  On the infield, 75 mph positional velocity, fields ball out front in athletic position, clean exchange, controlled and smooth actions, accurate throws with soft hands and quick exchange, lean frame with room to add strength.

6/13/17 - Blum is a 6-foot-3 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.75 laser timed 60 and a 5.09 home to first.  He has an 81 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, short in line stride, level path through the zone, body stays controlled during swing, middle to pull side contact.  On the infield, 67 mph positional velo, quick transfer, fluid footwork with clean exchange, long levers, mostly accurate throws. Singled to left field in game action. On the mound, Blum is a strike thrower with a mix of fastball and curveball, short over the top release, smooth temp and rhythm, in line stride, hides ball well, attacks hitters, fastball at 75-77 mph, some with late run, breaking ball as gradual 11-to-5 shape, 64-67 mph, kept hitters off balance in game action, produces soft contact and off balance swings.
