Fox River Open: Preview

The Fox River Open will take place on June 15 at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg, IL. The event will give athletes in all high school classes the opportunity to showcase their talent to the PBR Illinois staff. As is the case with all PBR showcases, each participant will receive their own PBR profile with showcase statistics, Trackman and Blast data, a video from their performance at the event, and an in-depth scouting report.

Last year’s event featured some stand out talent, including 2020s RHP Blake Oesterblad (Loyola HS; Walters State JC), C Michael Aragon (Marian Central Catholic; Lake Land JC commit) as well as RHP/INF Ryan Bibb (Mascoutah, 2022), INF Tristan Samuelian (Burlington Central, 2021), INF Jake Tapia (Belvidere North, 2021) and INF/RHP Braden Thelander (Prairie Ridge, 2022) all of whom are now ranked in their respective classes.

This year’s event currently features over 20 players with plenty of new names on the list ready to make a statement. One prospect to keep an eye on should be C/INF Jayden Lobliner (St. Charles North, 2022). Lobliner was called up as a freshman for the North Stars during their run to a Class 4A runner-up finish in 2019.
