Key additions - ‘25 OF Briggs Ellis

What To Watch For - O’Dea returns virtually all of their young core from last season, with 7 of 9 starters returning from last year’s 3A state semifinal loss. Given this experience, this group has arguably some of the best offensive potential of anyone in the state this season.

From top to bottom, the line-up is a balanced combination of speed & power, capable of exploding for crooked numbers quickly. At the top, speedy ‘24 SS Isaiah Nolan (Bellevue College) is a dynamic table setter ahead of the power bats of ‘24 Davis Downer (Everett CC) and ‘25 OF Jordan Holloway (Washington). It doesn’t get any easier after that however with college bats ‘24 INF Vaughn Lowe (Tacoma CC) and ‘24 Jed Stange-Tregear (Maryland Eastern Shore), both of whom accumulated significant ABs in 2023. Fellow seniors ‘24 C Luke Klooster, ‘24 Dom Skally, '24 INF Adam Alharbi (Rice) & ‘24 Andrew Strathy (Everett CC) bring more power to the back half of the lineup. ‘24 OF/RHP Wes Lynch (Cal Lutheran) has the tools to impact the game in several ways and could be a SR ‘x’ factor this season. Look for Junior bats ‘25 INF Davonn Abaga and ‘25 OF Briggs Ellis to both get early opportunities and each are primed to make big jumps this season.

Regardless of how the rotation shapes out, on the mound, ‘24 LHP Basil Hendrix, ‘24 RHP Patrick Galvin (Seattle University) and ‘25 RHP Quincey Brown (Michigan) provide a terrific ‘Big 3’ for O’Dea to enter the season with. Each gained valuable experience last year and look to grow after making a deep playoff run.

Abaga could be a big relief option with a FB up to 86-87 that he pairs with a tight SL. Overall, there’s a lot of arms O’Dea can throw out you in a given match-up and each has their own strengths to rely on.

To conclude, O’Dea is one of the best line-ups in the state & they have ample arm talent on the mound to carry themselves to another deep playoff run. Last season they were knocking on the door of a state championship game appearance and they appear as hungry as ever to hoist the 3A trophy in 2024.
