Prep Baseball Report

Season Review: North Springs

Hudson Graham
PBR Georgia Staff

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season cancelled, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. We have sent surveys out to coaches around the state and got their input on the first weeks of the season. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the season and standout players, team by team.

NORTH SPRINGS spartans

Record: 7-4 (1-0)

North Springs had a couple tough losses to Kell and Norcross by a run. They were tied through 5 innings with Allatoona in GDC/PBR tourney first week of season, ended season with a 13-3 run rule win over Riverwood in only region game, that game and 1-0 win over Roswell best wins of the season

Season Statistics: .300 w/ 11 R, 6 SB through 11 games

10/1/19 - 5-foot-11 165-pounds. Athletic lefty that continues to show well from the summer. He had a great National Championship. Fun kid to watch play, he plays the game hard and fast. Great speed, always giving a hard 90 to first. Stands tall on his swing, and keeps his eyes level on his load and finish. Short, quick hands allow him to make contact consistently. He shows some power when he gets his pitch to hit. Goes the other way really well, stays down and lets his hands do the work. Most definitely a player to keep an eye on during the Georgia high school season.

2/14/20 - 6-foot, 186-pound right-handed hitting third baseman, lanky frame with lean strength, looks like he has leaned out his frame with good muscle since we last some in the fall, adding over 10 pounds to his frame. Has a balance setup with the barrel resting on his shoulder, loads hands back with some barrel wrap. Although the barrel wrap adds some length to his swing, his hands are quick and strong enough where he can get the barrel level to the zone for square contact. Have consistently seen him be able to feast on high pitches, driving the ball gap-to-gap with force.
