Prep Baseball Report - Illinois/Missouri held the Unsigned Senior Showcase in St. Charles, Missouri on October 1.  Nearly 45 players in the 2018 class from both states participated.

Players profiles have been updated with profile pictures, stats and video from the event.  In the days to come we will break down the event position-by-position, taking a look at the outfielders today.  The outfielders listed below are in alphabetical order.

Outfielders

Christopher Connolly OF / SS / Francis Howell North, MO / 2018

Connolly is a 6-foot-2 137-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.49 laser timed 60 and has an 82 mph exit velo. At the plate, thin base and slightly open stance, quick in line stride, controlled leg lift, level path through he zone, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, 64 mph positional velo, quick to the ball, over the top release, gains momentum after the catch, works behind the ball, mostly accurate throws.

 

Tate Davison OF / SS / Benet, IL / 2018

5-foot-11, 150-pound, lanky, right-handed hitting shortstop and outfielder. Defensively, long arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate on some throws, 81 mph from the outfield, 72 mph across the infield. Maintains body control, quick and clean on exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, long stride, uphill barrel path, flashed loose hands, gap-to-gap hitter, 69 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 7.69 laser-timed 60.

 

Thomas Dreller OF / 2B / Parkway West, MO / 2018

Dreller is a 5-foot-10 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.16 laser timed 60 and has an 87 mph exit velo. At the plate, tall set up, controlled weight shift to back side in load, no wasted hand movement, aggressive swing, slight lift at the end of path, swings with intent, middle to pull side contact, occasional pull side power.  In the outfield, 64 mph positional velo, short over the top arm circle, quick transfer and throw, works behind the ball, fluid footwork.

 

Trevor Durand OF / RHP / Mt. Zion, IL / 2018

6-foot-2, 162-pound, lanky, athletic, two-way prospect. Defensively, short arm action, high ¾ slot, accurate with carry, 90 mph from the outfield. Plays through the ball with fluid footwork and clean exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, leg kick timing trigger, present bat speed, uphill barrel path, gap-to-gap approach, 87 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.24 lasser-timed 60. On the mound, short arm action, quick arm speed, high ¾ arm slot. Tall and fall delivery, works towards third base, lands square, finishes athletically. Fastball, sat 82-84 mph. Curveball, 11/5 shape, near fastball arm speed, 64-67. Changeup, near fastball arm speed, fade action, 72-73.

 

Daniel Ensign OF / RHP / Barrington, IL / 2018

5-foot-8, 150-pound, athletic two-way prospect. Defensively, long arm action, high ¾ arm slot, consistently accurate with some carry, 81 mph from the outfield. Fields position athletically, fluid footwork, clean exchanges. Offensively, calm, fluid demeanor in the box, balanced setup, stride foot hovers back then strides short. Short, level barrel path through the zone, line drive approach, 81 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.23 laser-timed 60. On the mound, long circular arm action, high ¾ slot, tall and fall delivery, works on-line, finishes athletically. Fastball, flashed run, commanded, 75-78 mph, touched 79. Curveball, 11/5 shape, gradual break, near fastball arm speed, 63-64 mph. Changeup, near fastball arm speed, mostly straight, 72-73.

 

 

Dan Favazza OF / St. Louis University, MO / 2018

Favazza is a 5-foot-10 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.11 laser timed 60 and has an 83 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced set up, body and hands stay under control during load and stride, quick bat speed, short to contact, repeatable movement, gap to gap approach, some pull side pop.  In the outfield, 80 mph positional velo, throws with a high three quarters arm slot, momentum through the ball, fluid transfer, ball has carry and back spin, mostly accurate throws.

Ethan Fletchall C / 3B / Liberty North , MO / 2018

Fletchall is a 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.84 laser timed 60 and has an 85 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced stance, reverse in line to touch, short stride with minimal hand movement, slight lift in bat path, strong lower half, gap to gap line drives.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velo, over the top arm slot, momentum through and after the catch, fluid footwork with clean transfer, mostly accurate throws.

Cole Hampton 3B / OF / Edwardsville, IL / 2018

Currently ranked No. 123 in Illinois’ Class of 2018. 6-foot-2, 180-pound, lanky, athletic, broad shouldered, right-handed hitting third baseman and outfielder. Defensively, from the outfield, short arm action, high ¾ arm slot, accurate with carry, 89 mph. In the infield, short arm action, over-the-top slot, accurate with carry, 87 mph. Plays through the ball, fluid footwork, quick, clean on exchanges. Offensively, balanced setup, back load, leg kick timing trigger, maintains balance through swing, uphill barrel path, pull approach, 87 mph exit velocity.

 

Adam Kopff OF / LHP / St. Mary's, MO / 2018

Kopff is a 5-foot-11 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.71 laser timed 60 and has an 82 mph exit velo. At the plate, thin and slightly open stance, minimal hand movement in load, in line stride, hand work inside the ball, high number of opposite field line drives, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velo, fluid action with transfer on time with feet, clean exchange, momentum after the catch, mostly accurate throws, easy high three quarters arm action.

Tevin Lee 1B / Du Quoin, IL / 2018

5-foot-11, 190-pound, strong, physically developed, left-handed hitting first baseman and outfielder. Offensively, balanced setup, short stride, uses lower half well, present bat speed, power pull hitter, 87 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.89 laser-timed 60. Defensively, short arm action, ¾ arm slot, accurate on some throws, 70 mph from the outfield, 66 across the infield.

Kayden Lewis OF / 1B / Hickman, MO / 2018

Lewis is a 6-foot- 185-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.53 laser timed 60 and has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, thin stance, minimal load, short in line stride, some lift to bat path, quick hands, mostly pull side contact, flashing pull power.  In the out field, high three quarters release, 68 mph positional velo, fluid footwork with clean exchange, catches ball in position ready to throw, works through the ball, mostly accurate throws.

 

Stephen Randazzo 3B / OF / De Smet Jesuit, MO / 2018

Randazzo is a physical 6-foot-1 193-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.61 laser timed 60 and has a 92 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced set up, slight weight shit into back side, quick toe touch, short in line stride, body stays under control during swing, level path, hard consistent contact during batting practice, mostly pull and middle of the field line drives.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, momentum through the catch, fluid actions, mostly accurate throws, 82 mph positional velo.

 

Dan Ulses OF / LHP / Francis Howell Central, MO / 2018

Ulses is a 5-foot-11 150-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.84 laser timed 60 and has a 74 mph exit velo. At the plate, starts slightly open, loads lower half into back side, short and controlled stride, hands control the bat head, level path through the hitting zone, middle to pull side contact.  In the outfield, 70 mph positional velo, quick to the ball, works behind and plays through the catch, high three quarters arm slot, mostly accurate throws with a clean exchange.
