PBR Nevada will be covering multiple games a week, bringing to you: game recaps, player spotlights, and updated power rankings.

DESERT OASIS (21) - LIBERTY (14)

On a day with the wind howling straight out to centerfield, you had a feeling that this game was going to be a high scoring affair regardless of who was pitching. The Diamondbacks put up 13 runs in the top of the first with DO’s Uncommitted, senior leadoff hitter, Gavin Mansell, getting the game started with a double to centerfield, tacking on his first of three hits on the day that included a pair of doubles and a triple to continue his big year at the plate. He plays the game with a confident, gritty mentality that you seek in a top of the order bats that consistently produces tough at bats each time he steps up to the plate. Nevada’s #3 ranked 2023 and Long Beach State commit, Jet Gilliam, got the scorning started in the top of the second with a three run homerun to dead centerfield as he continues to show why he is one of the top bats in the state, regardless of Class. Recent Mesa CC recruit, Justin Walker, added a pair of hits, bringing in five runs for the D-Backs as he looks to have settled into the left field position after transitioning from shortstop earlier this Spring. Future Brown Bear and Team Nevada alumni, Logan Meusy, has quietly had a big year at the plate for the Patriots, hitting .377 with a .523 On Base Percentage as he barreled multiple balls to the big part of the yard, racking up two hits while bringing in three runs. Liberty’s nine hitter, Uncommitted 2023 IF, Dylan Fisher, added three hits yesterday, doing his job to turn over the lineup as he scored three times with the help of the top of the order bats.
