Fox Cities Preseason I.D.: Infielder Analysis

By Wisconsin Staff

Last month, our staff traveled to the Appleton area to host the annual Fox Cities Preseason I.D. at Players Choice of the Fox Cities. This year, we saw the biggest roster in event history with more than 150 prospects in attendance. For additional insight on this showcase, make sure to check out our Quick Hits and Statistical Analysis, published days after the event.

Cedarburg junior Colin Dailey further established himself as a highly interesting uncommitted member of this 2021 class. He’s packed with athleticism and surprising strength that plays from the batter’s box to the left side of the diamond, helping him chart near the top of several statistical leaderboards at this showcase.

Anthony Lausten (Hartford) also emerged as a follow inside the state’s budding 2022 class with advanced defensive actions and a left-handed bat. Hulking freshman Eli Zollar (Ashwaubenon) swings an aggressive right-handed bat that already carries some power at the plate and he certainly projects to grow into more. Zollar will be a name to know once we debut our in-state 2023 rankings later this spring.

Here’s a look at the top-five infielders from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 classes from the event, as well as reports on all of the prospects who made it out to Appleton last month:
