By: Vinny Rottino & Isaiah Glidden

On Jun. 22, the PBR Wisconsin staff hosted its first event along the 2022 summer showcase circuit, the annual Underclass Open at The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, Wis. Nearly 50 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of prospects to follow in an area of Wisconsin that regularly produces some of the state’s top talent.

Today, we’ll be highlighting the players who stood out in Franklin within this Quick Hits piece. Stay tuned throughout the week as we continue to break down the in-depth metrics measured at this event, with the help of our tech partners TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Vizual Edge.

2025's

+ RHP/INF Greyson Zach (Pewaukee, 2025): Zach stands at an imposing 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, already with some maturity to his build. From the right-handed batter’s box, Zach works from a wide, open stance and uses a leg-lift trigger to showcase some pull side pop. Displayed quick first step burst in the infield with a strong arm with carry, up to 87 mph across the infield. Later on in the day, Zach jumped on the bump where his impressive arm strength transferred over nicely. Using a drop-and-drive type delivery, Zach’s hardest fastball during his ‘pen registered on the Trackman at 84.1 mph, which was just a tick slower than the event leader. As for his offspeed offerings, Zach showed more feel for fading changeup that was thrown all around the zone for strikes. As for his breaking ball, it seems like he is still developing consistency but it did flash some sharp 11/5 action low in the zone. Altogether, the recent Junior Future Games participant has built on his already impressive track record and is a name to follow as he progresses through high school.

+ C Bradley Fillipis (Indian Trail, 2025): 6-foot, 160-pounds with an athletic frame, and room for more fill, has present strength throughout. Fillipis stood out on the day with the best pop time from behind the plate of 1.93 displaying a quick transfer and quick release from short arm path to over the top slot creating carry and accuracy on the bag.  He possesses soft hands and a feel for the catching position.  At the plate, he has a short quick handsy path with good balance and the ability to spray line drives to all fields.

+ OF Jackson Nielitz (Plymouth, 2025): At a high-waisted 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, Nielitz impressed during our time at The Rock. Nielitz started off his day by running a 6.91 60-yard dash, which tied for an event best. Nielitz then carried over that momentum into his BP round where he worked from a narrow setup and took direct swings to spray line drives to all fields. Nielitz would follow this up with a quality showing during the outfield defense portion, topping at 83 mph, which is also tied for an event best, on his hardest bullet to home plate.

+ INF Ryan McCarthy (Badger, 2025): Mature strong frame, hits from slightly open set up, smooth load, a tight path with quickness and hand speed, balanced through the ball, sprays line drives to gap to gap. Impressed with a 90.5 MPH exit velocity in BP. Shows athleticism in the middle of the infield with smooth transfer and delivers throws from a low 3/4 slot.

+ LHP Ethan Meves (Union Grove, 2025): 5-foot-8, 175-pounds compact frame, athletic mover, organizes and controls body well through delivery, up tempo high leg tuck, drives off his backside, balanced finish through release, long arc, quickness to arm, ¾ slot, gets through FB 70-72 MPH with ability to get it to spots, pitch shows finish with arm side run, feel for a curveball with 2-8 shape and can land, displays a real feel for a change up selling the pitch well and the ability to land for strikes and get below the zone.

+ MIF/RHP Sawyer Conradt (Hortonville, 2025): Projection to 5-foot-9, 150-pound athletic frame, drove the ball in BP from a balanced stoke, strong lower half leads the swing creating leverage and ability to drive the ball to all fields, loose clean actions at SS, hands work well funneling the ball with rhythm to the footwork and strong carry on the throws. Conradt showcased his two-way talent later on in the day as he jumped on the mound and put together one of the cleanest ‘pens of the day. Working from a methodical windup with a loose, clean arm action, Conradt showcased a traditional three-pitch mix, with the ability to spot up each pitch. Conradt was able to go in and out with his fastball that sat in the 79-81 range and mixed in a changeup with downer action that he showed impressive feel for. He rounded out his above-average three-pitch mix with a sharp 11/5 type breaking ball that was thrown low in the zone throughout his ‘pen.

+ LHP/OF Treyton Schumacher (Culver Academy, 2025): At an athletic 6-foot, 178-pounds with room to add, Schumacher put together a solid overall day which started when he recorded a 7.25 60-yard dash. He then followed it up with a quality round of BP in which his twitchy athleticism was on display as he sprayed line drives to the entire field and logged an 89 mph max exit velocity. He followed this up with an athletic showing while patrolling the outfield, moving quickly to the ball and then firing his hardest to home at 80 mph with accuracy. Schumacher would then complete his day with a solid ‘pen, topping out at 79.7 on his hardest bullet to home. While on the bump, Schumacher works methodically and throws from a low ¾ slot, making him a tough at-bat for lefties. His better of his two offspeed offerings was a tightly spun, 1/7 breaking ball that he flashed feel for. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a developing changeup that he has a tendency to cut. Overall, Schumacher’s ‘pen was raw but he possesses a quick arm and athleticism that should only get better as he matures.

2024's

+ 1B/LHP Graham Kasten (University School, 2024): Strong sturdy lower half on a 6-foot-0 190-pound frame with some strength gains remaining, showed the ability to hammer the ball with aggressiveness, centered drive of lower half creating a ton of hard contact with the ability to drive the ball deep into gaps, shoed hand speed and quickness, ball jumps off the bat.  Displayed soft hands and knowledge of how to work around the bag at first base. Kasten would then jump onto the mound where he continued his solid all-around day. From a low ¾ slot, the southpaw ran a fastball with cut up to 78 mph and sat in the mid-70s throughout his ‘pen. He then mixed in a tightly spun 1/7 breaking ball that was thrown for strikes and a developing changeup that flashed depth.

+ RHP Parker Bleck (Xavier, 2024): Built at a highly-projectable 6-foot-4, 195-pounds Bleck is a twitchy athlete while on the bump, moving quickly. From a lower ¾ slot, Bleck’s hard-running fastball got up to 84 mph, tied for an event best, and also broke the 80 mph barrier with each of his fastballs. During his ‘pen, Bleck threw two different types of breaking balls: a curveball that he showed feel for, burying it low in the zone, and a slider that was tightly spun and slightly harder than the curve. To round out his pitching repertoire, Bleck’s changeup was also a solid pitch as he was able to throw it nicely to his arm side for strikes and he also showcased a knuckleball that flashed depth. Bleck’s projectability coupled with his raw talent makes him a name to follow as he continues his prep career.

+ UTIL Max Johnson (South Milwaukee, 2024): Built at a sturdy 5-foot-9, 180-pounds Johnson showed well in many facets on Wednesday. Johnson started his day off by running a 7.19 in the 60-yard dash and then followed it up with a solid round of BP. Working from a balanced and square stance, Johnson’s top to downswing path showed a contact profile with the ability to backspin the ball to all fields.  Behind the plate, Max showed quick hands on the transfer with plenty of carry through the bag with his best pop time at 2.03.  The versatility, athleticism, strength, and twitchy nature of this athlete provide some ceiling and a name to follow as he enters his junior year at South Milwaukee.

+ RHP Cashton Jones (Madison Memorial, 2024): At an athletic 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, Jones has plenty of room to add weight to his frame. While on the mound, Cashton works quickly,  staying inline well then utilizing a tall and fall type delivery to create fastballs up to 80.2 mph, and sitting 77.5-80.1 mph that flashed sink. When it comes to his offspeed offerings, Jones featured two different breaking balls, the first being a curveball that showed sharp 11/5 action that was consistently throwing all around the zone. His third pitch was a slider that showed more sweeping action than the curveball and was also a viable option to keep hitters off balance as he was able to throw it for strikes as well.
