The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

• Coach Strickland and the Marist War Eagles look to continue off of their success in 2023 where they had a 23-13-1 record, and made an appearance in the class 6A Sweet 16. The War Eagles will lean on an experienced group both on the mound and offensively. The pitching staff will be led by Juniors David Albert, and Georgia Tech commit Jamie Vicens. Also, Senior Duncan McLamb (Young Harris commit) will be a key part to the starting rotation. The outfield will be led by Seniors Casey Comerford, Reed Edwards, and Junior Noah Gerrick (Wofford commit). Junior Jack Euart will be the leader of the infield at SS and will look to produce offensively. Two underclass standouts at the Georgia Preseason All-State event Jack Richerson and Martin Shelar will look to play big roles in the success of the Marist War Eagles in 2024.
