Scouting Report

7/11/17 - Currently one of the top uncommitted pitching prospects in the country; ranked No. 92 overall. 6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed pitcher, strong, sturdy frame, developed lower half with wide shoulders.  Shows flashes of developing into a high-level power arm in future. Comes out of a slow, methodical side-step delivery with controlled aggression, short stride with some effort. High-¾ slot, quick, explosive arm. Fastball topped at 93 mph, sitting 90-91, with at times heavy, hard-boring arm-side sink. Slider flashes sharp, late break at 73-74; inconsistent shape, erratic around the zone with it; could be high-level swing-and-miss offering with more refinement.

3/5/17- 6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Currently #2 ranked player in IA and #89 in PBR Overall.
Radel made a splash in March at the IA Preseason All-State event consistently throwing 90-93 mph in his bullpen session; along with showing a solid 11/5 breaking ball and a sharp slider with depth. 7.64 runner. Open stance, leg kick trigger, short swing through zone, above avg. strength, gap to gap hitter, 89 mph exit velocity. Sure hands in field, solid actions with range at 3B, accurate throws to bag with velo and carry, 91 mph arm across infield.

2016 Future Games- 6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed pitcher. Strong durable build. Large hands and feet. Relative unknown before event. Short tuck/turn in to balance point. Good explosion down mound. Long arm action, ¾ slot, and arm path works across body. Consistent cut on fastball at 85-88 mph with heavy action. Breaking ball was 72-73, thrown for strikes, with solid spin and shape. Changeup is currently an avg. offering; but usable vs. LHH.

7/20/16- Active load, leg kick trigger, flashes pop when extended through contact, mid/pull approach. Decent feet and glove, makes routine plays, heavier feet, projects as third baseman, strong arm with accurate throws. Consistently threw upper 80’s on mound with heavy cut action. Shows 2 different breaking ball. True 12/6 CB, thrown at 70-72 mph, shown in zone and taken away. Slider was 75-78 with tight rotation, consistent shape, and was an above avg. pitch. Changeup is firm and flat in zone for strikes.
