EVENT HISTORY

The Madison Preseason ID annually provides our staff with quality insight in who to follow throughout the spring and summer. Last year’s event showcased some of the elite talent within the area—including numerous arms.

RHP Jack DeTienne (Verona Area, 2024; Xavier commit) popped at GRB Academy last year—settling into the low-90s with his fastball. DeTienne continued to elevate his game on the mound and eventually earned an invite to the first-ever Prep Baseball All-American Game in Milwaukee, as he raised his stock as the top right-handed pitcher in Wisconsin’s 2024 class.

RHP’s Nate Langbehn (DC Everest, 2024; Wichita State), Craig Kabat (Bay Port, 2024; Gonzaga) and Alex Vander Loop (Kimberly, 2024; Wisconsin-Milwaukee) all enjoyed a strong spring and summer after the work they put in on the mound during the 2023 Madison Preseason ID. Each proved they could get outs at a high level with ease, and will look to maintain this approach this spring in their final prep season.

As for the offense, OF Logan Dunn (Wautoma, 2024; Missouri State) was one of the top hitters who emerged from the showcase last year. Dunn provides advanced bat-to-ball skills from the left side of the plate. In a 6-foot, 185-pound frame, Dunn is one of the most consistent bats returning to the spring stage in the upcoming weeks. The No. 4 ranked player in the state even received some praise from Prep Baseball’s Managing Editor Andy Sroka in The Hotlist as one of Wisconsin’s POTY candidates in 2024.

2024 ROSTER

As always, this year’s version of the Madison Preseason ID gives a glimpse at some of the talent to watch out for during the spring, summer, fall and beyond.

Among the pool of prospects attending Sunday’s event, four of them are committed. SS Preston Yaucher (Edgewood, 2025; Penn State), RHP Adam Urban (Wauwatosa West, 2025; Minnesota) and C Terek Verhage (Monona Grove, 2025; St. Thomas (MN)) were all members of Team Wisconsin’s 2023 Prep Baseball Future Games roster down in Georgia this past summer. Each prospect showed well at the 2023 Madison Preseason ID late in the offseason and emerged as standouts during live action—earning them the invite.

Preston Yaucher [7/29/23]

INF Kaden Connor (Monona Grove, 2024; Xavier) is the fourth commit from this group—coming off multiple strong performances throughout the post-showcase circuit. Connor returns to GRB Academy on Sunday as one of the top hitters and infielders to watch out for.

As for the uncommitted prospects, RHP/INF Jaxon Clayton (Brookfield Central, 2025) is one of the top athletes on the market in Wisconsin’s 2025 class—blossoming into a strong two-way player into his junior season. Clayton stands at an athletic 6-foot-1, 162-pound frame, and is coming off of one of the strongest falls in the Badger State, most recently showing out at the PBR at The Rock Fall Championships. Clayton put in quality work on the mound in another appearance in front of our staff after his time in Georgia for the Prep Baseball Future Games. With reports of a recent uptick in velocity over the offseason, Clayton excites as a projectable arm with numerous quality off-speed pitches to work with. His bat continues to play up—flashing signs of power in addition to his ability to get the barrel to the baseball. He hit a home run at The Rock during the fall—emerging as one of the top bats in the tournament. Clayton’s presence for Brookfield Central will be strong this spring too, as he looks to put his skillset to the test on Sunday.

Jaxon Clayton [9/24/23]

C Peter Visconti II (Kenosha St. Joseph, 2025) was another member of Team Wisconsin this past summer who is making an appearance in Madison on Sunday. Visconti II provided multiple quality looks in his summer stint after coming off of a multi-home run season for the Lancers during the spring. His bat continues to improve, with his defensive prowess behind the dish leading the charge. Visconti II is a quick-mover with a strong arm, with pop times ranging from 1.93-2.11 seconds this past summer.

Peter Visconti II [7/26/23]

The same defensive work could be mentioned for OF Braylen White (Brown Deer, 2025), another uncommitted member of Team Wisconsin. White was one of the quickest runners in Georgia—sprinting a 6.54-second 60-yard dash. As his offense develops, his speed on the basepaths and defensive prowess in the outfield has been game-changing.

Braylen White [7/26/23]

Two rising prospects from the Sun Prairie area will be making their way to GRB Academy this weekend—INF Max Glusick (Sun Prairie East, 2025) and SS/RHP Casey Wambach (Sun Prairie West, 2025). The pair of juniors will endure a short trip to the event, as both made a positive name for themselves as underclassmen in both the showcase setting and in live action. Glusick is a slick-fielding middle infielder who projects as a bat at the top of the order for the Cardinals this season. On the other hand, Wambach continues to shine as a two-way prospect—looking to improve upon his numbers from last year’s showcase.

Max Glusick [3/12/23]
Casey Wambach [7/16/23]

OF Levi Watts (Appleton North, 2025) and RHP William Baumhardt (Slinger, 2025) are two names-to-know in the 2025 class who will also be in attendance. Each has raised their stock over the past year as they enter their junior season. Watts was one of the standouts at the Eastern Wisconsin Open to wrap up the summer showcase circuit—presenting an athletic toolset with smooth actions on the offensive and defensive end.

Levi Watts [8/21/23]

Baumhardt continues to project as a mid-to-upper-80s arm for Slinger this spring, as our staff is excited to get our first look at the right-hander since the Southern Wisconsin Open. The junior reached 86 mph on the bump with above average spin rates—using his 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame to drive down the mound and generate velocity.

William Baumhardt [10/14/23]

As for the underclassmen, INF/RHP Calvin Moreau (Monona Grove, 2026) is one of the top sophomores in not only the state, but also within the Midwest region. Moreau was one of the best performers at the 2023 Madison Preseason ID as a freshman, and carried that momentum into his spring season with Monona Grove. Moreau stepped into a top-20 Silver Eagles team and established himself as a force on both ends of the field. His work in the summer—excelling with his long 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame—only elevated his stock as a top uncommitted prospect in the state. He looks to continue to improve his progression as the offseason concludes here in Madison.

Calvin Moreau [3/28/23]

Similarly, INF Winston Alonso (Reedsburg, 2026) was another freshman who thrived in both the spring and the summer—flashing quality power from the left side of the plate. Alonso—in a mature 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame—demonstrated bat-to-ball skills in live action to power Reedsburg to a ranked position toward the end of the season. He continued his hot streak for his travel club as well—putting up quality numbers as a top of the order presence.

Winston Alonso [9/24/23]

LHP Bron Schaefer (Kaukauna, 2026) and RHP/SS Mack Krause (Neenah, 2026) are a pair of prospects whose competitiveness stood out on the diamond, mostly at the PBRT Wisconsin Open. The two athletes led their travel team to a championship appearance in the tournament. Schaefer tossed a complete game with a low-80s fastball paired with a mature breaking ball that kept hitters off balance. Krause got the job done on both ends, as our staff is interested in witnessing their progression in the offseason.

Bron Schaefer [6/29/23]

Later in the summer, two prospects in SS Jonny Deets (Aquinas, 2027) and RHP/1B Dylan Schreiber (Waukesha West, 2027) made their way to Georgia to represent Team Wisconsin at the Prep Baseball Junior Future Games. Arguably the best defender on the team, Deets showcased smooth actions on the infield during the showcase and game action—presenting quick feet and quality arm strength. Schreiber maintained his momentum from the rest of the summer on the mound—ranging in the low-80s in a long 6-foot-5, 185-pound build.

Dylan Schreiber [7/25/23]

Among the rest of the field, numerous underclassmen highlight some of the under-the-radar talent the state has to offer. C’s Haaken Hovestol (Delavan-Darien, 2026), Colin Murphy (Waunakee, 2026) and Manuel Abreu Socorro (Sun Prairie East, 2026) represent some of the intriguing backstops attending Sunday’s event. Additionally, RHP/INF Eli Bauler (Monona Grove, 2027) is an up-and-coming prospect who is looking to make some noise in his first showcase after touching 80 mph on the mound at the PBR at The Rock Fall Championships.

As is the case with all of our showcases, our staff is excited to find new names to add onto our prospects list for the upcoming spring, summer, fall and beyond.
