X-FACTOR
+ Entering his fourth varsity season, INF Brock Lulewicz (2024; Wichita State commit) will be one of the most important pieces for Muskego this spring. Since his freshman year, Lulewicz has excelled as this teams shortstop and has long been regarded as one of the top players in the state. Our most recent look at Lulewicz came at January's Preseason Procase, which featured a number of potential MLB Draft prospects in Illinois and Wisconsin. There he took one of the cleaner rounds of BP, something our staff has become quite accustomed to seeing from him and his power potential continued to trend upwards there, too. As a junior, he was one of the most productive bats for the Warriors, batting to an average of .364. Now heading into his senior season as one of the few returners, he will be relied on more than ever before and he certainly won’t shy away from that as he is one of the most competitive and confident prospects in the state. With one final spring to go before he heads off to Wichita State, he will be looking to go out on top and he certainly has the talent around him to do so.

NEWCOMER TO WATCH
+ The Warriors’ freshmen crop is shaping up to be the best in Wisconsin, highlighted by C Maddux Lessard (2027), the current No. 1 freshman in our state rankings and No. 51 nationally. Lessard is one of the most advanced underclassmen in the area, already possessing a strong 6-foot, 187 pound build. His innate strength is evident across many facets of the game, as he already features exit velocities upwards of 99 mph which we saw at our annual South Milwaukee Preseason ID. He has also shown an advanced arm from behind the plate which helped him record pop-time lows of 1.95 during that same event, too. While it might take some time for Lessard to get acclimated to baseball on the varsity level, which is to be expected from a freshmen, he has all the talent to be one of the biggest contributors for Muskego this season once he does so.

TEAM OUTLOOK
While Muskego may not have played quite to their standards last season, they still collected 19 wins and a regional championship. Despite losing a number of important seniors from that group, it is safe to say they reloaded and then some, with a number of ultra-talented underclassmen.
One of the few seniors on this team will be LHP/OF Bradyn Horn (2024; Wisconsin-Milwaukee commit) who is coming off a stellar junior campaign that saw him pitch to a 2.69 ERA and also maintain a .358 batting average. Himself coupled with the aforementioned Lulewicz combine for seven years of varsity experience, and they both will be expected to help the underclassmen group find their way this season.
Bradyn Horn (4/21/23)
Outside of Horn, sophomores RHP/INF Ben Kuglitsch (2026; Florida State commit) and RHP/INF Tyson Grulkowski (2026) are a pair of high-end arms expected to see time in the starting rotation. Starting with Kuglitsch, he is one of the top-notch talents in the state’s sophomore class. He features a lively fastball that we saw up to 91 mph at the West Milwaukee Preseason ID last month, while also spinning in a sharp slider and a deceptive changeup.
Kuglitsch later hopped on the bump where he showed off his high-level two-way abilities:

🔸FB sat 89-91 mph (T91.3 mph); over 16" of VB
🔸High-70s SL avg. 2,300+ RPM w/ quick downer action
🔸Sold a fading CH in the low-80s; 12.8" of HM

As for Grulkowski, he features some of the highest upside in the state’s sophomore class, listed at a lean 6-foot-5, 212 pounds. At the same West Milwaukee area event, Grulkowski ran his fastball up to 86 mph and showed feel for a devastating slider and changeup. While both of the previously mentioned prospects will be key pieces on the mound, they will also be equally as important in the offensive attack, most likely in the heart of Muskego’s lineup. Last season proved to be a learning one for both Kuglitsch and Grulkowski, but in 2024 they will step into much larger roles on both sides of the ball.
Grulkowski’s ceiling may even be higher on the bump, as he put together an ultra-clean ‘pen at the #WestMKEID:

🔸FB sat 85-86 T86.4 mph
🔸Feel for a high-70s SL; 2,600+ RPM

Out of the ‘pen, RHP Tyler Gress (2025) is expected to shoulder most of the workload. Last season, he logged a 2.78 ERA and a 0-1 record, but expect his usage to rise this spring.
At the plate, the aforementioned Lulewicz, Horn, Kuglitsch and Grulkowski will return as the only experienced bats. With that, head coach Jacob Paige will rely on juniors INF/RHP Dean Staudacher, INF Daniel Hauboldt and 3B/OF Aidyn Mueller to step into various roles in the lineup.
Staudacher recently has seen his stock take a big leap this winter as he impressed our staff at the West Milwaukee Preseason ID. The right-hander swings an easy and repeatable bat with natural feel to barrel the baseball and to drive it in the air. A natural infielder, Staudacher has the ability to move around the diamond and fill a number of defensive positions with ease, pairing it with an advanced arm that was up to 97 mph across the diamond this winter. With that arm strength, Staudacher could also see a quality amount of time on the mound this spring, where he features a fastball up to 90 mph.

🔸Clean and athletic actions on the INF

Just recently there were a number of Muskego prospects who showed out at our annual Milwaukee Preseason ID, too, and they could see some quality time on varsity this season - one of them being the aforementioned Mueller. INF/RHP Carter Nicolato (2026) took one of the loudest rounds of BP at the Milwaukee area event while also running his fastball up to 88 mph on the mound. RHP/INF Callen Tomsyck (2026) was another sophomore who came away a big winner, putting together a clean 'pen where he showed feel for a quality three-pitch mix including a fastball up to 87 mph.

A pair of high-end freshmen were also some of the day’s top performers. LHP Joey Shaw (2027) is an athletic southpaw who pumped his fastball upwards of 88 mph and showed feel for a pair of legitimate offspeed offerings. The other being INF/RHP Kyle Rogosienski (2027), who took a clean round of BP from the left-side and also featured a big arm across the infield, topping out at 90 mph.

BOTTOM LINE
+ Typically with teams as underclass heavy as Muskego will be this season, it is going to be a year of learning and gaining experience. That seems to not be the case for the Warriors though, as they boast an ultra-talented group of underclassmen that have the talent to make big contributions right away. They also boast a tight-knit core of talented upperclassmen that will pave the way this season. It won’t be an easy ride for the Warriors though in 2024, as they will compete in arguably the state’s toughest conference, the Classic Eight.
